Dr. Fegurgur works full time as Licensed Clinical Psychologist at Guam Behavioral Health and Wellness Center (GBHWC) working with consumers and families within Severe Mental Illnesses (SMI). In this capacity, Fegurgur serves as a supervisor for psychology department ensuring quality psychological clinical services for inpatient, outpatient and residential group homes. Fegurgur worked closely with staff to assist GBHWC to achieve CARF standards and accreditation in 2017.  In addition to her regular duties, Fegurgur has assisted GBHWC staff in the writing of various SAMSHA and Department of Interior grants.  Other work experiences include Guam Veteran's Community Based Outpatient Clinic (2014-2016). For 10 years, Dr. Fegurgur worked as an Associate and Tenured Professor of the MS in Clinical Psychology  (MSCP) and Women and Gender Studies at UOG (2005-2014). In this capacity, she was the MSCP Co-Chair, as well as coordinated the Women and Gender Studies Center.  Her research focused on evidenced-based and culturally responsive mental health services for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families for Guam and the Micronesian region, including Philippines. In this capacity, Dr. Fegurgur excelled in writing grants (SAMSHA and local grants), she has held positions as Principal Investigator, project director and evaluator). In 2003-2005, Dr. Fegurgur worked as a evaluator for SAMSHA I’Famaguonta  grant.

Qualifications:  Dr. Fegurgur qualifications include Psy. D. in Psychology with emphasis in clinical psychology & substance abuse family therapy from the Alliant University-San Diego, California (Accredited by WASC & AAMFT) and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from San Diego State University (Accredited).

Dr. Fegurgur maintains current licensure from California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCS #18780) and she is also licensed as a Clinical Psychologist (CP 42),

During her MSW graduate studies, Dr. Fegurgur specialized in the identification, assessment and treatment of serious mental illness with aging adults, including treatment of adults with medical and neurological conditions (Alzheimer's and dementia) receiving clinical trainings at San Diego Dialysis Center and University of California-San Diego Transplant programs.  Dr. Fegurgur's graduate thesis titled "Cross cultural study of Chamorro, Hispanic and Anglo Caregivers of Alzheimer's and Dementia-affected Patients" was conducted on Guam. 

Dr. Fegurgur's doctorate coursework included clinical psychology courses with emphasis on family therapy for adults with substance abuse and serious mental illness, with pre-doctorate internship at the Children's Hospital,  Outpatient Psychiatric Unit, San Diego, California. Dr. Fegurgur's dissertation titled "The Relationship between multiple informants: parents, clinician, child and childhood depression" was completed Summer of 2002 with a Fall 2002 graduation. 

While in the doctorate of psychology program, Dr. Fegurgur enrolled in a 2 year Play Therapy Certification program at National University, San Diego, California receiving over 1,500 play therapy clinical training hours at Counseling and Behavioral Specialists, La Mesa, California.

Dr. Fegurgur also enrolled in courses receiving training & supervision for 3 years from Los Angeles Individual Psychoanalytic (Jungian) society and International Sand Play Therapy Association.

Additionally, Dr Fegurgur received training & certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Supervision,  Play Therapy and Sandplay and Solution-focused therapy.

Finally, Dr. Fegurgur received specialized training in Object Relations Theory while learning  couple counseling at the Object Relation Institute of San Diego, California. 

Dr. Fegurgur has been accepted as a preferred provider for Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Pacificare, Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare since 1998, with acceptance by Guam's Netcare, Selectcare and Takecare health insurances in good standing since 2000.

In 2005, Dr. Fegurgur started her post doctorate clinical trainings under the supervision of both a board certified psychiatrist and a licensed psychologist at Guam Latte Treatment Facilities, a JACHO accredited 24-hour residential psychiatric treatment facilities for children,adolescents and adults with severe mental illnesses. She continue to provide counseling /psychological services for 10 years assisting Latte with adhere to JACHO standards care and services.

Dr. Fegurgur is committed to excellence in providing quality and culturally relevant care for children, adults & families with severe mental illnesses by attending yearly trainings and maintaining her clinical skills by providing consultation and supervision for social workers , Licensed Professional Counselors and Psychologists. She has several publications and provides presentations on various topics yearly .
